Our Founders

Co-Founder & CEO

Dr. Wa'el Al Rawashdeh, Ph.D.

Dr. Wa'el Al Rawashdeh, Ph.D., is an accomplished interdisciplinary scientist and executive with a distinguished career in the clinical translation of cell therapies and orthobiologics. He is the CEO and a founding member of JWP, where he leads innovation at the intersection of translational nanomedicine and regenerative medicine.

In the US, he served as Vice President of Development, and Business Development, at Ossium Health, where he led the development of OssiGraft, and invented the award-winning OssiGraft Prime, FDA-approved and commercially available allografts on the U.S. market. Dr. Al Rawashdeh led the validation and implementation of CD34+ cell selection technology, which enabled the world’s first multi-organ transplant tolerization procedure at Columbia University. He also led a major federal proposal that resulted in a $120+ million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to support strategic preparedness for mass radiation and nuclear events.

In Europe, Dr. Al Rawashdeh held several high-impact roles at Miltenyi Biotec, a global leader in biotechnology, where he was instrumental in advancing CAR T cell therapy programs. His work led to the establishment of industry-leading non-clinical platforms that culminated in five clinical trial approvals in Germany, a pivotal IND application to the U.S. FDA, and the successful approval of an orphan drug in the European Union within just four years. Notably, he also developed a novel animal model that enabled the first CAR T cell clinical trial approval in Europe for the treatment of melanoma.

In the research arena, Dr. Al Rawashdeh spearheaded the formation of an industry-academia consortium that secured a €1.6 million grant from the European Commission to develop next-generation trackable CAR T cell therapies targeting solid tumors. Moreover, he has been awarded funding for developing drug-eluting nanomedicine vehicles and has authored numerous scientific publications in prestigious journals. Dr. Al Rawashdeh co-developed a groundbreaking optical imaging technology. The technology was subsequently adopted and commercialized by MiLabs, a global leader in molecular imaging, resulting in a hybrid tomography system that has generated over $15 million in global sales to date.

Dr. Al Rawashdeh holds a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Fresno, a Master’s and Ph.D. from RWTH Aachen University, and is finishing up an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business.

Jacob Carstensen

Jacob Carstensen's career is a testament to leadership, adaptability, and making an impact across diverse fields. His professional story began in the Royal Danish Army Engineer Corps, where he excelled as an engineer and non-commissioned officer. Specializing in EOD and IED operations, he led international missions that demanded precision, strategic thinking, and teamwork.

Transitioning from military service to healthcare, Jacob took on the demanding role of a paramedic in New York City. Serving with top institutions such as Mount Sinai Health and New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Hospital, he provided critical and often life-saving care, further cementing his dedication to meaningful work.

Jacob’s leadership skills continued to shine in the field of organ and tissue procurement at Donor Network West. By implementing key strategic initiatives, he played a pivotal role in tripling annual revenues. Later, at Ossium Health, he overhauled the sales department, creating a strong pipeline that drove significant multi-million-dollar growth.

Now, as co-founder and President of JW Partners, Jacob channels his varied experiences into building innovative business solutions. Within just six months, the company has achieved six-figure revenues and established a global presence, collaborating on impactful projects with diverse clients.
